HUTCH resumes its free emergency reload offer for those who are affected by the latest Covid-19 wave

Providing much needed relief to those who are affected by travel restrictions around the island, HUTCH has redeployed its free emergency reload offer for the second year running. HUTCH will be offering a free reload worth Rs. 10 daily to help customersโ€™ access emergency calls and messages until the travel restrictions are relaxed.

The emergency reload can be activated daily by dialing *288# or via HUTCH Self Care app and is available to all prepaid subscribers. With this initiative, HUTCH aims to facilitate customers who have run out of their mobile balance, to use this reload for emergency requirements.

โ€œSri Lanka is currently grappling with the 3rd wave of Covid pandemic, which has resulted in nation-wide travel restrictions. We have identified that many subscribers face difficulties in recharging their mobile accounts during this period. This is not the first time that our customers are facing this challenge, we had them covered during the last wave too with this offer. This reload will ensure that customers are able to make emergency calls when they run low on their mobile balance.โ€ said Iranga Amandakoon, Senior Manager โ€“ Marketing at HUTCH.

As a socially responsible corporate citizen, HUTCH has been at the forefront of a number of Covid relief measures including timely initiatives such as free reloads from the beginning of the 1st wave of Covid-19 back in March 2020. HUTCH also joined forces with o-Doc, launching the SuwaSarana telemedicine service free of charge for all Sri Lankans during travel restrictions, providing access to GP consultations from the safety of home.
